For me portraits are a great opportunity to have fun either as a couple or as a family. I have such a modern approach to photography that I don't always agree with the traditional poses you would sometimes expect in portraits. Firstly where families and young children are concerned it's important that as a stranger kids warm to me, no photo will ever look good if the poor child is scared and so it's important for me and for your photos that we have some fun to build up some trust.

It's always advisable when working with children to start off in their home, a natural surrounding for them comforted by familiar settings and no scary studio, just me and my camera. Then once the children are comfortable we have a few options. Firstly I have a portable studio which I can take to homes (space permitting) to offer a modern studio setting or we can head out to a park for more natural looking photos.
